Presets & Storage
A preset is a saved sound. You can manage presets on the pedal screen or in the browser manager. You do not need to edit a file.
Banks and slots
Ardor has banks numbered 0 to 99. Each bank has four preset slots. The four footswitches choose slots 1 to 4 in the active bank.
| Control | Action |
|---|---|
| Bank −/+ on the screen | Move to the previous or next bank. |
| Preset slot on the screen | Choose a sound. |
| Footswitch 1 to 4 | Choose slot 1 to 4 in the active bank. |
| Save | Keep the changes in the current preset. |
| Apply | Use the saved sound for the audio output. |
Make a preset
- Choose a preset slot.
- Open Edit.
- Add effects with +, or open a block to change its controls.
- Arrange the blocks from left to right.
- Choose Save, then Apply.
You can do the same work in the Manager App. If you leave a preset with unsaved edits, Ardor asks whether you want to save or discard them.
Add amp and cabinet sounds
A preset can use sounds from the pedal asset library. Add your own amp models, cabinet sounds, or reverb sounds in the manager. Then choose them when you edit a block.
The release image includes starter presets but does not include third-party amp models, cabinet sounds, or reverb sounds. Add only files you own or have permission to use.
Dual Rig presets
A Dual Rig preset has a left lane and a right lane. Both lanes start with the same guitar signal. The left lane feeds the left output. The right lane feeds the right output.
See Dual Rig & Dual Amp for examples and the screen layout.
Advanced: where preset files are stored
The pedal stores four files in each bank folder. The number in a file name starts at zero, so preset-0.json is the first slot shown to a user.
presets/bank-000/preset-0.json
presets/bank-000/preset-1.json
presets/bank-000/preset-2.json
presets/bank-000/preset-3.jsonAsset names are relative to the pedal data area. The pedal rejects absolute paths and paths that try to leave the data area.
Advanced: preset file format
Presets use JSON. Most users should use the screen or manager. The example below shows a version-2 preset with two lanes.
